This is going to be the second segment of pictures from our hike. I have more pictures that need sharing, but Blogger isn't letting me at this point. Got 'em all set to go, but they won't!!!
The younger dashed far ahead for much of the hike. He had been fussy at the beginning, but came to really enjoy it.
What's the story with this hole in the rock??? Strange...
Dragonfly lovin'???
The reward at the end of the hike: a cool pool of mountain stream water, good for the wading or taking a dip in. Interestingly, this is the same stream that feeds the river going right near our neighborhood, although it does make quite a transformation between these points.

Looks like you guys had fun!
Good job Naomi on the shot of your 3 guys in the water.
Cool place.
There's a good chance they did take you there, Eyeball. Its only a mile back, but I know you can go on a distance from there and get a view of the falls from below, it drops off suddenly just past the swimming hole. There was a sign warning that there had been 8 deadly falls in a two year period. I would have liked to gone on to get some shots of that, but it was getting late already. Of course, back in those canyons twilight comes early. To park most anywhere in the national forests you're required to have a wilderness pass. I think you can get day-use ones, but a year was only $15 or $20 I think. If you ever get a bike, this is an awesoe place to ride!!! I saw several of 'em up there, nice twisty roads... I was having fun putting the Storm through her paces (shes fun to drive, too, nice handling, lightweight)
