Now, to have a nice weekend!!!

Hey, its either memorial day or labor day weekend. I have some sort of disconnect on which comes first, I just know I get 'em off!!! If your from Toro and your just now getting to checking on the link I sent you, please refer to the post on 5-24, and be sure to check out the feedback on it, apparently I'm not the only one thoroughly dissatisfied with your crappy product.

I woke up at 5:45 this morning and felt like I was done sleeping. That never happens during the week. I was thinking I could do a few things, and I did. One of 'em was to update my blog :Þ I got my VCR all unplugged and ready to go back in for service, for the third time since I bought it at the end of January. Word to the wise, don't buy Sony products either!!! Updated my wallpaper page on my Geocities site, and downloaded the Ymessenger 7 Beta. Tried to get the phone call function to work, and eventually discovered that my mic wasn't working right. No diss on Jensen products, I've had this for ages and this is the first trouble I've had with it. Fairly easily fixed too, just open it up and solder the wire back together and its fine.

Anyway, I've managed to piss away the morning, now I gotta get going!!! My good friend is having a little barbecue today and we're off to there very soon. I had more I was gonna write, but I don't know what it was!!! Damn leaky brain....

Irony, Inconsistency, Cognitive Disconnect ... and other words that start with I

I find it ironic that this blog's spellcheck always thinks that "blog" is misspelled. To me, that seems like something that should be fixed.

SPEAKING OF THINGS THAT COULD USE SOME FIXING...

I broke my weed eater a couple weekends ago. I purchased this string trimmer back at the beginning of February. The reason I purchased a Toro brand was that was the kind I had before and had been pleased with its performance. At first I thought the design of the spool cover to be superior to the previous design. My old one had a double clip design, which occasionally would pop off, sometimes losing the inner spring. Upon further use, this proved not to be the case. After just a little bit of use, the string advance button started becoming stuck in the pressed down position when I attempted to dole out more string. Disassembly and cleaning did nothing to help this condition. Very quickly, I found myself spending more time taking apart the spool assembly every 20 seconds or so to advance the string, taking about a minute each time. This is when I decided the screw-on design on the spool was more of a hindrance than an asset. A couple weekends ago I was using it, becoming more and more frustrated by the sticking of the advance button. Sometimes I would have luck by repeatedly bumping the spool on the ground, and I was attempting to so, and the shaft of the trimmer broke right in half!!! I could not believe that it was only made of plastic, with no metal reinforcing the inside!!!

Wrote to Toro about it, and Customer Care Representative Tara K. was quick to reply that she was forwarding my comments to the appropriate department for review. A week later I had no further contact from them, (although they said that due to the high seasonal volume it could be up to two days!), so I wrote saying the customer service was no better than their lousy product, as the "appropriate department" had taken no action. They responded by telling me the case number I had been assigned... again!!! A couple days later I got this reply:

Thank you for contacting The Toro Company. The Toro Company prides itself in its reputation for producing products of high quality and reliability. We appreciate your taking the time to inform us of the difficulties you have experienced with your trimmer. We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention as we always encourage our customers to provide us with feedback. We will be keeping your comments on record for review.
We are sorry we could not have been of further assistance to you in this manner.

Sincerely,
James J.
Customer Care Representative

So, that's how a company that prides itself in its reputation for producing products of high quality and reliability deals with defective, shoddy merchandise being foisted on an unsuspecting public!!! Well, I learned my lesson!!! I wont be buying their JUNK anymore!!! I wrote a review on Epinions telling my story, and looking at others' reviews found I was not alone in having difficulties with this inferior product. Guess I should have checked there first.

Here's to hoping that many many people learn from my mistake!!!

Yay!!! Its my first post on my first blog!!!

Here it is, my first post on my first blog!!! Its something I've been thinking of doing for a while, and my good friend and certifiably crazy lady from NC Lilly just created hers here. So, here I am yet again following the lead of one of the cool peeps!!! Of course, she will not agree with that assessment, but if you knew Lilly like I know Lilly...

I'll probably use my blog to post gripes about the stupid stuff that goes on at my work, observations and random thoughts I have. Will it be of any interest??? I seriously doubt it, but stay tuned anyway. Oh yea, I've got a little website on Geocities, it doesn't tell a whole lot about me, but maybe at some future point it will, we'll just see. Check it out, and be sure to click on some advertisers' links, remember they pay for a lot of the free cool stuff out there on the WWW!
